The role is part of our high performing Design Office , based in Guildford , with the opportunity of working out of other SCC offices. It is a hybrid role, offering a flexible mix of home, office, and site-based working, tailored to the needs of the projects you'll be supporting. You can expect to be in the office or on site approximately at least two days per week. These Delivery & Implementation Technician roles sit within our Professional Development programme (PDP) which spans three linked grades within our pay grade structure. These roles are intended to develop successful candidates with the training and experience required to ensure progress. In role you will be required to participate in a formal training development plan to increase your expertise and attain technical and professional qualifications. For example, we will provide for you to study a relevant subject to BTEC / HNC level – this means you will need to hold a minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 4 or above (C or above) including Maths and English. Salary progression through the grades is linked to progress through the formal training development plan. For candidates hoping to be considered for the higher grades in this professional development role, you would need to have some previous experience of overseeing construction of highway improvement projects. Reporting directly to one of our Delivery & Implementation Leads, you will be at the beginning of your career in highway construction and contract management or may have some prior experience. You will be keen to grow in your skills and experience. You will be trained to be part of a team overseeing construction of highway infrastructure projects – starting with minor improvements and working up to more substantial schemes. We work closely with a number of internal teams and also with our contractors Ringway and M Group. This role is a great opportunity for someone at the start of their career in highway design, and we would welcome and encourage applications from school leavers or university graduates.
