The starting salary for this permanent role is £53,713 per annum, based on a 36 hour working week. We have a great opportunity to join the Communities Leadership team as a Community Partnership Manager. We support hybrid working with the right balance. We come together in person for 2 days per week on average (40% of the working week) and support working from home arrangements. About The Role We are seeking and enthusiastic and capable individual to join the team as a Community Partnership Manager, which will be focused on operationally leading a team who will be working to deliver Neighbourhood Area Committees and Team Around the Communities. This role will be essential in the delivering Surrey County Council’s key priorities set out in the ‘Surrey Way’. As the Community Partnership Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to the Community Partnership and Engagement Team, ensuring effective delivery of place‑based working across Surrey. You will oversee the implementation of the Team Around the Community (TAC) model, supporting Community Partnership Officers to build strong local partnership arrangements and ensuring insight from communities is captured, shared and used to improve service delivery. Alongside you will support leading the development of the Neighbourhood Area Committee Pilots across Surrey. Working closely with statutory partners, the voluntary and community sector, councillors and senior colleagues, you will help develop joint approaches that strengthen prevention, reduce health inequalities and deliver meaningful outcomes for residents. On a day‑to‑day basis, you will manage people, performance and budgets, ensuring resources are used effectively and the team is supported to be high‑performing and collaborative. You will use data, local intelligence and community knowledge to inform planning, commissioning and service design, while leading projects and service improvements aligned to organisational priorities such as local government reform and place‑based agendas. The role requires a flexible and visible presence across the county, with occasional evening and weekend working to support community engagement, events and emerging priorities. Your Application In order to be considered for shortlisting, your application will clearly evidence the following skills and align with our behaviours : Excellent communication, influencing and relationship building skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders and elected members in a fast paced and complex political environment. Experience of building collaborative strategic partnerships with a wide range of partners, such as local authorities, health partners, Police, voluntary and community organisations and mobilising them towards a shared goal. Extensive experience of developing asset-based community development and engagement models at scale, and the use of local insight, data and intelligence to inform service planning, commissioning or preventative approaches. Proven ability to lead, manage and develop large teams, including performance management and taking staff through period of transformational change as a visible leader. Demonstrable ability to build trust and influence through clear, confident and inclusive communication, both written and verbal to create a compelling narrative in a wide range of public fora.
