Your Role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Occupational therapist, to join our Equipment and Adaptations Team within Adult Social Care. You will work with adults with a wide range of needs completing holistic and functional assessments and identifying solutions that promote independence, safety and wellbeing. This will include exploring a range of options, such as self-management strategies, community resources, technology enabled care and recommending equipment and minor adaptations before considering more complex interventions where these are necessary and appropriate.
The successful candidate will be confident in applying professional judgement, balancing risk and independence and finding creative solutions that achieve the best outcomes for people whilst making effective use of resources.
About You
You will be a qualified occupational therapist, registered with HCPC and have experience working within a Community, Health or Adult Social Care setting.
You will bring
- Strong assessment and clinical reasoning skills
- Experience of recommending equipment and adaptations
- Skilled in balancing positive risk taking with safe and effective practice
- Able to identify proportionate and cost-effective solutions that maximise independence and prevent, reduce or delay the need for ongoing support.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation including Care Act 2014
- Excellent communication and partnership working skills
- A commitment to promoting independence and strengths-based practice
- The ability to manage a varied caseload and work effectively within a busy service
