Your Role

This is an exciting opportunity to provide join a team who provide essential support to our Social Work Teams in sourcing external placements for vulnerable children in our care.

You will contribute to achieving improved outcomes for Children in our Care by coordinating and identifying quality placements that are matched, cost effective and that will meet their assessed needs and ensure the child or young person is supported to achieve the highest level of care / independence.

The role involves working in a fast-paced environment working proactively with a range of partners and professionals both internally and externally, seeking and responding to information, searching for packages for children and young people in a range of settings appropriate to their needs these include, foster care, residential children’s homes, semi-independent and supported accommodation.

About You

We expect staff recruited at scale 4 to be hard-working, well-organised and to work well as part of a team. You will have a commitment to providing a high standard of customer service, with strong organisational and interpersonal skills. You will be able to empathise and be sensitive to the needs of the people using our services. You will have previous experience of dealing with customers and be able to prioritise your own workload.

You should be proficient in working with standard office IT applications including MS Office and with training be able to navigate in-house case management systems to retrieve and record information.

This is vital role working with an experienced team supporting our Social Work teams to find the best outcomes for the Children in our Care. This is a fast paced and rewarding role where full training will be given.

This is a good opportunity to work with services across the Council and we support hybrid working.
