Your Role

The EHCP Team in Stockport is seeking to recruit a Mediation and Tribunal Officer to work within the EHCP Team in Stockport. This is a challenging and busy role within a friendly team.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the management and resolution of SEND appeal cases, ensuring that all submissions and casework are robust, well-evidenced, and legally compliant.
Working under the direction of the Mediation and Tribunal Manager, you will assist in the preparation and administration of statutory appeal processes, promote early resolution where possible, and ensure that responses align with legislative frameworks.

About You

We are particularly keen to hear from candidates who have experience of working with children and young people with special educational needs and their families, including legal representatives, education professionals and internal colleagues to support the effective delivery of mediation and tribunal services.

If you are enthusiastic, motivated, hard-working and committed to achieving the best outcomes for children and young people with special educational needs we would like to hear from you.

About Us

We offer a hybrid way of working with some home working and some flexibility around working hours. There will be an expectation to be office based for part of the week.

At Stockport Council we are one ambitious team on a mission to create opportunities for everyone who lives, works and spends time in the borough. As part of the Guaranteed Assessment Scheme you will therefore be guaranteed to be shortlisted for Assessment if you meet both the criteria for the scheme and the essential job role criteria.
