The role

Are you passionate about data and ready to make a real impact? Southwark Council is entering an exciting phase of change with a new ERP system, and we’re looking for an HR Data Consultant to help shape the future of our data processes and insights.

What you'll be doing:

  • Working as part of a small, specialist team, you’ll play a pivotal role in managing and delivering HR data insights, working closely with HR and wider business functions.
  • You’ll take ownership of analysing, modelling, and presenting HR data in engaging formats - from written reports to dynamic dashboards.
  • Your work will ensure data quality, drive process improvements, and influence key decisions at the Council.
  • You’ll be joining a small specialist team with responsibility for both HR Data Insights, and Systems Management.
  • Your expertise will also contribute to shaping significant change in the HR Data landscape.

What we're looking for:

  • Proven HR Data Consultant experience in data management, reporting, and delivering insights that add value and impact.
  • A good understanding of HR processes and procedures.
  • A proactive approach to solving problems and continuous improvement.
  • The ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders and flex your communication style.
  • Strong planning, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks seamlessly and organise workloads in a structured and logical way.
  • Mastery of Microsoft Excel, Power Query, and Power BI.
  • Experience delivering quick-turnaround data requests, including for statutory bodies like the Office of National Statistics.

Additional details

This role is fixed term for 12 months maternity cover.

Full time, 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This role offers a flexible hybrid working arrangement, with time split between working from home 2 days per week and our Tooley Street office 3 days per week.
