We are looking for a skilled Plasterer to join our dedicated Repairs and maintainance Team on a Permanent basis.

These roles will play a vital part in delivering a planned programme of Plastering repairs across the Council’s diverse housing stock.

About the Role

As part of our in‑house maintenance team, you will carry out internal and external Plastering repairs across a wide range of buildings. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the upkeep and enhancement of spaces that serve our communities every day.

Key Duties:

  • Carrying out high‑quality plastering works to specification
  • Ensuring safe working practices in line with Health & Safety requirements
  • Working independently or as part of a small team to deliver scheduled works
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organisation within work areas
  • Providing excellent customer service when working in occupied buildings
  • Supporting colleagues within the wider Facilities Management team when required

About You

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Have proven experience in plastering
  • Take pride in producing high‑quality workmanship
  • Are reliable, well‑organised, and able to plan work effectively
  • Can work sensitively in operational environments, including vulnerable settings
  • Have good communication skills and a positive, team‑focused approach.
  • Willingness to undertake multi-trade tasks

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
