Neighbourhood Officer
Sheffield City Council
Older Persons Independent Living Service
Location: Sheltered Housing Schemes across the City of Sheffield within the Older Persons Independent Living Service.
An opportunity has arisen within the Older Person’s Independent Living Service, for recruitment to two Neighbourhood Officer posts.
The successful applicants will join our established team carrying out a range of Housing duties, whilst delivering a responsive service to a varying and growing client group across more than 30 schemes across the city. Our Neighbourhood Officers are typically located in one geographical area, however working at different OPIL sites is expected and may be city wide.
They will be expected to have a flexible approach and will work some out of hours when the scheme requires it.
The successful applicants to be able to manage their own workload, whilst at the same time be a team player and work well as part of a team. You will possess a good level of IT skills, some housing knowledge, and an understanding of the needs of older people and vulnerable adults. The schemes are Independent Living which offer activities to reduce loneliness and isolation.
We expect our Neighbourhood Officers to support this and be willing to facilitate regular activities to encourage social interaction. In this exciting post, we are expecting the successful applicants to deliver a truly person-centred approach to housing management and housing support.
Working in collaboration with other services the successful applicants will support older, more vulnerable adults to sustain their tenancies within a scheme or geographical area.
