Are you passionate about supporting people to learn, grow and adapt in customer-facing roles?

Sheffield City Council is looking for a Customer Workforce Officer to join our Customer Experience Capability (cec) team.  This role plays a key part in supporting the learning, skills and confidence of colleagues working in customer-facing services, helping them adopt new tools, processes and ways of working.

This is a delivery focused role, centred on making learning work in practice and supporting teams through change.

What you'll do

  • Support the delivery of customer-focused learning and development activity across the Core Customer Hub and linked teams
  • Help maintain skills, competency and behaviour information to support workforce development
  • Work with colleagues to deliver blended learning approaches, including digital, practical and peer-led learning
  • Support colleagues to adopt new systems, tools and ways of working with confidence.
  • Use feedback and basic insight to help improve learning and development activity over time.

What we are looking for

  • Experience supporting learning, training or development activity in a large or complex organisation
  • Confidence using digital tools and systems to support learning and skills development
  • Strong communication skills and a practical, people-focused approach
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of colleagues and stakeholders
  • An organised mindset with a focus on continuous improvement

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
