Are you highly organised, analytical, and passionate about improving service performance? We are looking for a Process & Performance Monitoring Senior Support Officer to play a key role in supporting the effective management and monitoring of Sheffield's Highway Maintenance Service and its major contracts.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the performance, governance, and financial management of one of the city's largest infrastructure contracts, ensuring services are delivered efficiently, transparently, and in line with contractual requirements and best practice.
About the Role
As a Process & Performance Monitoring Senior Support Officer, you will support the Operational Process Team in developing, implementing, and maintaining performance monitoring systems, procedures, and reporting arrangements that underpin the successful delivery of highway maintenance services.
You will:
- Develop and maintain performance monitoring procedures, systems, and reporting processes
- Monitor contract and service performance, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of key information
- Support the management and monitoring of budgets, expenditure, and financial processes
- Gather, analyse, and present financial and operational information to support informed decision-making
- Prepare reports, briefings, benchmarking information, and performance data for a range of audiences
- Support contract governance activities including reviews, health checks, risk management and performance meetings
- Work closely with technical, operational and strategic contract management teams
- Help maintain systems and processes that support effective service delivery and compliance with contractual obligations
- Assist with the management and monitoring of non-core works and associated programmes
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives and the development of new processes and procedures
You will play an important role in ensuring that performance information is robust, financial controls are effective, and service delivery remains focused on achieving value for money and continuous improvement.
About You
We are looking for a motivated and detail-focused professional who brings:
- Experience supporting contract management and performance monitoring activities
- Experience working with financial processes, budgets, expenditure monitoring and reporting
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information and identify trends
- Experience preparing reports, briefings and performance information for diverse audiences
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Good understanding of procurement, contract management and performance management principles
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Experience working collaboratively across teams and services
- Good ICT skills, including experience of using spreadsheets, databases and management information systems
- Ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively as part of a team
- An understanding of local government, public sector services or infrastructure contracts would be advantageous
- A professional qualification, or working towards one, would be desirable
You will be a proactive problem-solver with a positive approach to work, capable of managing detailed information whilst maintaining a focus on service improvement and delivery outcomes.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
