About the role

As an Information Systems Officer, you will provide specialist support for applications used to deliver essential Council services. You will investigate system, access and data issues, manage user permissions, support system changes and testing, and provide guidance and training to users.

This is more than a traditional IT helpdesk role. You will analyse problems, identify safe and practical solutions, and prioritise work according to risk and service impact. You will also work with service teams, ICT colleagues and software suppliers to resolve complex issues and improve how systems are used.

The role involves handling sensitive information and supporting systems which may affect statutory casework, safeguarding, reporting and financial processes. You will therefore need strong problem-solving and communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and a clear understanding of confidentiality and data protection.

We are looking for someone with experience of supporting applications, databases or information systems who can explain technical information clearly, manage competing priorities and work confidently using their own initiative

We anticipate interviewing for this role w/c 7thDecember.

In these cases, we’ll interview the candidates who best meet the essential criteria for the job.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.
