Strategic Campaigns Specialist
Sheffield City Council
Are you at the forefront of marketing communications, inspiring generations with innovative campaigns that not only tell compelling stories but also drive meaningful behaviour change?
Sheffield Town Hall, one of the city’s five Grade I listed buildings, is undergoing a major restoration programme to secure its long‑term future as a civic, cultural and democratic landmark. We are looking for an experienced communications professional who is ready to make an impact on this once in a generation, flagship project ensuring that the city is an active participant of the project and future public use is embedded in the project.
The project will safeguard the building’s historic fabric while delivering a more sustainable, accessible and welcoming Town Hall for the people of Sheffield. Once reimagined and reopened, the Town Hall will be a “Town Hall for All”: a building that better reveals its heritage and collections, improves access to cultural assets, and provides high‑quality civic, community and event spaces that strengthen Sheffield’s civic life.
You’ll be confident advising senior officers and elected Members, at ease speaking with the communities you serve and calm under pressure. Working closely with the wider communications team, executive directors and senior managers, you will be skilled and confident in dealing with communications campaigns and providing high-quality communications for the Council to a range of influencer and stakeholder audiences.
Whether it’s a communications plan or video content for social media, you’ll have strong judgement and the skills to go with it.
If you are ambitious, engaging, resilient, and adaptable, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, this is an ideal opportunity for you to join our team.

Under the Guaranteed Interview scheme, applicants who are disabled, care leavers, or armed forces veterans will be guaranteed an interview if they meet the essential criteria and indicate their eligibility on the application form. Sometimes, if lots of people apply, we might not be able to interview everyone who qualifies for the Guarantee. In these cases, we’ll interview the candidates who best meet the essential criteria for the job.
