Help improve services for Sheffield residents
Make a practical difference to the quality of services that support people experiencing homelessness or threatened with homelessness.
We are looking for an organised and detail-oriented Assistant Quality Assurance Officer to help our Quality Assurance and Performance team turn service information into practical improvements.
Working alongside Quality Assurance Officers and operational teams, you will turn checks, records and feedback into clear findings that help colleagues maintain standards and address issues promptly across homelessness and supported housing services.
About the role
Your day-to-day responsibilities will support quality, compliance and continuous improvement across the service:
- Assist with routine quality checks across Homelessness and Supported Housing to help ensure services follow legislation, policies and procedures.
- Support the identification and reporting of recurring issues, good practice, and opportunities for service improvement.
- Check and correct information held on housing systems, supporting data cleansing, validation, and accurate records.
- Help monitor letting outcomes and other service activity against policy requirements, sharing findings with senior colleagues.
- Prepare basic reports and summaries to support audits, service reviews, and performance monitoring.
- Follow up missing or delayed information and escalate concerns where appropriate.
- Help coordinate training, briefings, induction activity, and updates for colleagues and partners.
- Contribute to keeping guidance, procedures and learning materials current, clear and accessible.
- Gather and share customer and staff feedback to help improve service delivery.
- Work collaboratively with operational teams and partner organisations to support consistent practice and good customer service.
About you
You may have experience in quality assurance, administration, housing, performance, data, or a related service. You will be accurate, curious, and committed to helping services improve.
- You have strong attention to detail and can identify errors, inconsistencies, or gaps in information.
- You can organise your work, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
- You are comfortable working with data, records, and digital systems, including Microsoft 365 applications.
- You communicate clearly and can adapt your approach for different colleagues, customers and partners.
- You build positive working relationships and contribute constructively as part of a team.
- You understand the importance of confidentiality, inclusion, accurate recording, and good customer service.
- You are willing to develop your knowledge of housing and homelessness legislation, policy and operational practice.
