Facilties Assistant

Facilities Management is looking to recruit a full and a part time Facilities Assistant to join us, to contribute to the Facilities Management team’s drive to provide buildings that are Clean, Warm, Safe and Fit for Purpose.

The part-time role will be based at the Town Hall in Sheffield City Centre but may operate across other city centre sites.

The Town Hall is one of Sheffield City Council’s prestigious building, the focus of civic life in the city and hosts a variety of events including conferences, formal dinners and weddings.

The full time role will be based at Manor Lane depot which is one of the city’s largest multibuilding depot’s that supports service across the city, but may also work across other sites in the locality

The successful candidates may be required to work at any location so we are seeking individuals who are flexible and can travel to a range of sites. Hours of work may cover 7 days a week from 7 am to 7pm

The successful candidate will ideally have or demonstrate, with training, ability to develop hold, gain knowledge, experience and skills in:

  • Facilities Management with an understanding of building operations security and compliance
  • Working with the public and ability to effectively communicate,
  • Ability to gain an appropriate SIA qualification
  • Ability to physically undertake the delivery of general building operations, equipment set up, hospitality support, compliance, cleaning, grounds maintenance, security functions and customer facing related activities
  • Ability to use IT systems to undertake key task in building activities.
  • Ability to put people at the heart of what we do to ensure we effectively listen to and support our staff and the people that use our sites, help wellbeing along with challenging discrimination.
  • Ability to have an open and honest approach to your work by fostering an environment that supports people in speaking up and bringing diverse ideas to what we offer, along with seeking out feedback on the way we work.
  • Basic Maintenance skills.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
