Senior Casework Officer

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Casework Officer to support the delivery of the Emergency Accommodation Reduction Pilot (EARP), supported through the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG).
This is a key role focused on reducing reliance on Bed & Breakfast accommodation for families, particularly those experiencing longer stays, by improving move-on pathways and delivering targeted, person-centred support.
This post is Temporary for 12 months and is a full-time position (37 Hours)
About the Pilot (EARP)
Sheffield has been selected to participate in this national pilot, which aims to reduce the use and length of stay in temporary accommodation and improve move-on outcomes through coordinated support and systems.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will take a lead role in managing complex homelessness casework and enabling sustainable move-on from temporary accommodation.
This will include:
- Complex Casework & Move-On
- Decision-Making & Legal Compliance
- Partnership & System Working
- Leadership & Support
- Contribution to Process Improvement
About You
You will be a confident and experienced professional with a strong understanding of housing and homelessness with n additional understanding of barriers people face whilst homeless and in temporary accommodation. You will have experience making independent decisions within statutory frameworks and ability to build effective relationships with partners and stakeholders

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.
If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
