We are looking for a reliable, hard-working Warehouse & Waste Assistant to join our team at Sheffield City Council

Key Responsibilities
- Warehouse Support: Assisting with loading/unloading deliveries, picking and packing orders, maintaining and organising stock levels
- Waste Management: Collecting, sorting, and processing site waste (cardboard, plastic, general waste) in line with recycling policies.
- Safety First: Operating equipment (Forklift Truck, Hand Tools, pallet jacks) safely and keeping walkways clear of hazards.
- Site Maintenance: Ensuring the warehouse and yard areas are kept tidy and professional.
- Documentation: Keeping simple logs of waste disposal and stock movements where required.
What We’re Looking For
- Physical Fitness: You’ll be on your feet and moving/lifting items throughout the shift.
- Reliability: You show up on time and ready to dive into the task at hand.
- Organisation: An eye for detail—you notice when things are out of place.
- Safety Mindset: A &slshquot;safety-first&slshquot; attitude toward yourself and your colleagues.
- Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse or waste environment is a plus, but full training will be provided.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.
If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
