Project Manager
Sheffield City Council
Are you an experienced project professional who thrives on leading complex work and delivering meaningful change? Sheffield City Council is looking for skilled and motivated Project Managers to join the Sheffield Role Review Programme (SRRP) Team. This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in a high-profile, people-centred programme that supports fairness, consistency and improvement across the Council.
About the Role:
In this role, you will be part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team delivering key strands of activity across the Sheffield Role Review Programme. These posts will play a leading role in driving significant areas of programme delivery across a complex and high-profile programme.
You will lead substantial work areas from planning through to implementation, ensuring delivery stays on track and aligned to programme priorities and quality expectations. You will bring structure and pace to complex work, manage risks and dependencies, and support practical, sustainable solutions.
Working with a wide range of stakeholders, you will build strong relationships, provide clear updates to senior leaders and governance boards, and help drive successful outcomes across the programme.
What We Offer:
A friendly, welcoming and supportive culture where you can grow and thrive.
The opportunity to lead high-impact areas of work within a major corporate programme.
A collaborative environment where you can work with a diverse range of colleagues and stakeholders across the Council.
Opportunities to apply and further develop your project, leadership and change management skills in a complex public sector setting.
We are looking for exceptional candidates who can combine strong project management expertise with the ability to lead complex work across organisational boundaries. You will be confident engaging senior stakeholders, managing competing priorities and driving delivery in a fast-paced environment.
This role is Sheffield-based, and you will be required to work regularly in our Sheffield offices and workspaces, travelling to different sites based on business needs.
We are looking for individuals who are resilient, adaptable and committed to our values. If you are passionate about delivering meaningful change and want to play a leading role in a major programme of organisational improvement, we would love to hear from you.
Join us in our commitment to creating a fairer and more consistent workplace for all.
We are investing in our workforce and are promoting opportunities to our under-represented groups. We value equality, diversity and inclusion and are focused on increasing the diversity of our workforce, particularly the number of Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic, Disabled and LGBTQ+ people, so that our teams reflect the communities in the city we serve. We are also supporting staff with unpaid caring responsibilities to work flexibly.
It is a great time to join us and we welcome your application.
Under the Guaranteed Interview scheme, applicants who are disabled, care leavers, or armed forces veterans will be guaranteed an interview if they meet the essential criteria and indicate their eligibility on the application form. Sometimes, if lots of people apply, we might not be able to interview everyone who qualifies for the Guarantee. In these cases, we’ll interview the candidates who best meet the essential criteria for the job.
Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.
If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
Equality of pay is extremely important to us. All roles at Sheffield City Council are going through an evaluation process which may result in changes to some pay arrangements from 2026. Find out more on our Sheff news page.
