Residential Child Care practitioners - The Lodge, Ringinglow Road, Sheffield., S11

The Lodge is a registered children's home providing individualised care for one young person with additional needs. We are looking for highly motivated and forward-thinking staff who are passionate about making a meaningful difference in a child’s life.

Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, child-centred care, promoting positive outcomes, and supporting the young person to reach their full potential. You will be resilient, adaptable, and able to respond effectively to the complex and changing needs of the child, while maintaining a safe, nurturing, and structured environment.

You will work as part of a dedicated team, contributing to care planning, risk management, and the development of tailored strategies that support the young person’s emotional, behavioural, and developmental needs. A sound understanding of safeguarding, professional boundaries, and therapeutic approaches is essential.

Working patterns will involve shift working with some out of hours/sleep ins and bank holiday working for which enhancements will be paid.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
