We have an exciting opportunity to be part of the Anti-Social Behaviour Team. The team is part of the wider Safer Neighbourhood Service incorporating colleagues from Community Safety, Prevent and the Violence Reduction Unit, as well as being co-located with a Policing Team.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping communities thrive to join our Anti-Social Behaviour Team. The team work alongside our Local Area Committees to ensure there is an effective response to anti-social behaviour and community safety issues affecting our communities. The team also assists partner agencies where additional resources are required and help address priority issues across the city in partnership with other Sheffield City Council resources, South Yorkshire Police, and other agencies.

Sustainable Communities Officers are visible uniformed presence in the community, building links, providing reassurance, acting as ‘eyes and ears’ to assist in the investigation of anti-social behaviour issues.

The successful candidate will work 37 hours, Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 10pm on an alternating weekly shift pattern of 8am -4pm and 2pm-10pm. (An enhanced evening working payment applies to this role). 

Candidates must hold a full valid driving licence in order to drive council vehicles; the appointed candidate will be subject to an internal driving assessment before being permitted to drive Council vehicles.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
