Are you an experienced commercial Heating engineer looking for a new challenge and the opportunity to make a positive contribution to the great city of Sheffield?’

At Sheffield City Council we’re currently seeking a qualified commercial Heating engineer to join our Housing Repairs & Maintenance Service and help us to continue to deliver excellent results. A proven ability to work on all types of domestic and commercial properties with a good knowledge of regulations and compliance would be beneficial.

You will be required to have knowledge in district heating systems, You’ll be able to install new commercial boilers when required. We’ll require you to be flexible in the role as heating replacement can be seasonal.

Currently, we are in the process of gaining training to be able to work on renewable energy systems (mainly Air source heat pumps) and any experience in this area would be highly beneficial.

You should be confident in carrying out boiler services and repairs and filling in all relevant certification. You may be asked to supervise and mentor with our apprentices.

We will expect you to be able to use handheld electronic devices to sign in to and complete jobs and you must be able to drive and have a clean licence.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
