Join Our Team as a Casual Support Worker
Location: Sheffield City Council. Home First - Community Service
We are expanding our team and are looking for a number of compassionate, reliable and motivated Casual Adult Support Workers to join us in providing high‑quality support to vulnerable adults across our service.
About the Role
You’ll support adults to live safely and independently at home, including people leaving hospital and people with complex, changing needs.
You’ll provide personal and practical support, including responding to urgent or unplanned needs.
Your work will also involve:
- Delivering personal care and practical support in the community.
- Support people to achieve goals in their support plans.
- Promote healthy living, including help with diet and hydration.
- Respond to urgent needs and report safeguarding concerns.
- Work with families and professionals.
- Work evenings (up to 10pm) and weekends on a 7-day rota.Enhancements for working unsociable hours are included.

About You
Skills and experience:
- Care/support experience (paid, voluntary, or informal).
- Able to stay calm and work independently or as part of a team.
- Comfortable providing personal care and supporting behaviour that can challenge.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Committed to confidentiality, dignity and equality.
Additional requirements:
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willing to complete relevant training (e.g. Diploma in Health & Social Care).
- Physically able to assist with moving and handling.
We are seeking candidates with an existing, valid right to work in the UK as we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
