About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Joiner to join our Housing Repairs Team. This role involves carrying out high-quality maintenance work across a variety of council dwellings & properties around the city using a Council vehicle, ensuring safe, functional, and well-maintained buildings for the residents of Sheffield. This is a hands-on position where your expertise will directly contribute to the safety, efficiency and longevity of our building asset.
As a Joiner within Sheffield City Council's Repairs & Maintenance Team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing our buildings.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake general Joinery tasks including fitting kitchens, renewing internal/external doors & frames, fitting windows, flooring, skirtings & general Joinery repairs and maintenance, the ability to multi-skill would be advantageous.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Work collaboratively with other trades (such as Plumbers/Electricians/Plasterers) and council teams to complete projects efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and council policies.
What we are looking for:
- Proven experience as a qualified Joiner.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to high standards of workmanship and health and safety compliance.
- Flexibility to respond to urgent repair needs where necessary.
- NVQ Level 3 in Joinery.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
