Community technician General Trades - Joiner

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Joiner to join our Housing Repairs Team. This role involves carrying out high-quality maintenance work across a variety of council dwellings & properties around the city using a Council vehicle, ensuring safe, functional, and well-maintained buildings for the residents of Sheffield. This is a hands-on position where your expertise will directly contribute to the safety, efficiency and longevity of our building asset.

As a Joiner within Sheffield City Council's Repairs & Maintenance Team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing our buildings.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake general Joinery tasks including fitting kitchens, renewing internal/external doors & frames, fitting windows, flooring, skirtings & general Joinery repairs and maintenance, the ability to multi-skill would be advantageous.
Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Work collaboratively with other trades (such as Plumbers/Electricians/Plasterers) and council teams to complete projects efficiently.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and council policies.

What we are looking for:

Proven experience as a qualified Joiner.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Commitment to high standards of workmanship and health and safety compliance.
Flexibility to respond to urgent repair needs where necessary.
NVQ Level 3 in Joinery.
