A rare and exciting opportunity to join the management team at Marketing Sheffield and lead our work to grow the visitor economy and reputation of Sheffield- with a specific focus on international and leisure tourism.
As our lead on marketing and development activity for visitor economy you will
- lead of a programme of sales and marketing activity to position Sheffield as a city to visit to both domestic and international tourism audiences, across a variety of different visitor groups (including city breakers and travel trade)
- have practical experience of working with and hosting travel trade and media.
- champion the importance of market ready, digitally visible visitor experiences for Sheffield.
- create initiatives that support partner businesses in raising their profile.
- be confident in creating content and tools to support activity.
- be confident in building relationships with visitor economy businesses and stakeholders.
A self-starter and a team player, you will understand the pivotal role the visitor experience plays in growing the visitor economy. Even better if you are aware of or linked into national tourism networks/bodies.
A confident sales professional, you will feel at home selling the city both in the UK and internationally and hosting and presenting to key industry partners and a variety of media.

Full‑time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. Regular time in the office in Sheffield will be required.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
