We are seeking an enthusiastic Project Officer to help deliver an exciting programme of community activities as part of the Bradbourne Re-bourne Heritage Project.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a major National Lottery Heritage Fund initiative focused on restoring Bradbourne Lakes and expanding engagement through events, workshops and community initiatives. You will work closely with the project manager and wider project team to ensure that plans are delivered effectively and inclusively.
About the role
You will support the delivery of the approved project’s Activity Plan by:
Organising and delivering community events, workshops and educational activities
Building strong relationships with local partners, community groups, residents and schools
Assisting in the development of a structured volunteering programme
Assisting with the recruiting and training volunteers to build heritage, ecological and cultural skills
Supporting marketing and promotion of inclusive and accessible activities
Continuing consultation and collecting feedback with local residents to understand community needs during the project
Monitoring project progress, supporting the management of resources and activity budgets, and reporting outcomes
This role will involve some evening and weekend working (mostly events at the park), for which time off in lieu will be provided.
About you
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience in community engagement, events or creative learning programmes – ideally National Lottery projects
Is highly organised with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Is confident working with a range of partners, volunteers and community groups
Is passionate about helping communities connect with local green spaces and heritage
Has good administrative skills and can produce clear reports
Experience of volunteer coordination, social media promotion, or working in parks, heritage or conservation projects would be an advantage.
What we offer
The opportunity to play a key role in an exciting heritage project
A collaborative and supportive working environment
Training and development opportunities
Flexible working arrangements
This role will be based at our Council Offices, Argyle Road, Sevenoaks, Kent TN13 1HG. We currently operate a hybrid working model for the majority of our roles where your working time will be divided between the office (2-3 days per week, pro-rata) and home working.
