Salford City Council

Salford Civic Centre, Swinton, m27 5bn

Senior Administrative Officer Minute Taker for Adult Safeguarding Team

36 hours (Grade 2C) 2 x permanent posts

The Salford safeguarding adults team coordinates the initial information gathering, from the referral, where an adult with care and support needs is experiencing, or is at risk of, abuse or neglect and is unable to protect themselves. The team's role is to establish what has happened, assess and reduce risk, ensure the adult's voice and desired outcomes remain central to the process, and work with partner agencies to protect the person and promote their wellbeing.

These posts will support various service areas within Adult Social Care in Salford transcribing the minutes within Adult Safeguarding Meetings. It is an essential role which includes mainly working at home with some visits to the base at Swinton Civic Centre.

The successful candidates will have the ability to accurately capture key discussion points and actions within Adult Safeguarding meetings and be able to record formally using a laptop. There is significant demand for Safeguarding minutes so the post holder needs to be able to manage their own workload, yet work as part of a team, to ensure all the responsibilities of supporting the meetings are considered and acted upon within agreed timescales.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience of recording complex meetings either by attendance at meetings or through MS Teams.

What we need from you if you are invited to interview:

  • Passport/ID - You will be required to provide original documentation confirming your right to work in the UK. Successful candidates will also be required to provide proof of address.

  • Qualifications/registrations if applicable for the role
