An opportunity for an Administrative Officer has become available within the Cared for Childrens Cluster at Next Steps. Core business hours for are 08:30 16:30.

This is a very busy role and there is an expectation that the post holder is able to manage their own workload whilst working as part of a team to ensure upon within agreed timescales.

The successful candidate will ideally have an administrative background although anyone with the relevant transferable skills would be welcome to apply.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they meet the following key factors for the post in order to be shortlisted for interview:

  • Possess a good understanding around concept of positive team working and be able to develop and maintain positive working relationships with all colleagues.
  • Be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills in order to meet tight deadlines.
  • To work autonomously across the service and be able to deliver excellent customer service demonstrating flexibility and support to all colleagues.
  • To ensure the authority’s client database system (Liquid Logic) is updated as required and all information is validated.
  • To understand the data protection, GDPR principles and how to apply these principles within work and when handling personal or sensitive data.
  • Experienced in using Microsoft packages in particular Excel.
  • Minute taking experience essential - Please be aware that this is a Childrens services role and therefore meetings attended may include discussion of a sensitive nature and candidates are therefore asked to consider this when making their application.
  • Able to deal with challenging situations with clients face to face and via telephone contact.
  • Hybrid working
