As a Senior Commissioning Manager, you’ll operate at the forefront of innovation, shaping and delivering bold, future-focused services that respond to the needs of children, young people and families in Salford. This is a dynamic leadership opportunity for someone who thrives on influence, transformation, and impact. You will be responsible to ensure that commissioned services meet statutory requirements, demonstrate impact on outcomes, and support continuous improvement, whilst providing strategic oversight of key areas such as Domestic Abuse, Children’s Services, and All Age Carers. You will be required to ensure you have full oversight of the commissioning lifecycle, including procurement, contract management, governance, and compliance bringing a rigorous, expert understanding of commissioning and procurement to everything you do. Your ability to navigate complex regulatory frameworks and lead robust procurement activity will be critical in ensuring services are both high-performing and sustainable.

You will have experience of line managing a small team, and working with HR in supporting colleagues as required.

You will have experience of working at a strategic level, including communicating with Elected Members, Directors and Senior Managers across a wide range of services.

Please be aware that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check currently £49.50. The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months’ salary payments at a rate of £12.38 per month. If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of £49.50.
