About The Role

If so, this is an exciting opportunity to shape how Runnymede Borough Council delivers its most important work.

We’re looking for a proactive, collaborative and highly organised Project Manager to join our Project Management Office (PMO) on a fixed-term basis until September 2027. This is a high‑profile role, working on complex, cross‑organisational projects sponsored by the Chief Executive—giving you the chance to directly influence how the Council operates as we prepare for local government reorganisation.

As a Project Manager (PMO), you will:

  • Lead and deliver cross‑council projects that make a real difference to residents and services.
  • Champion best‑practice project management and help colleagues adopt consistent, effective approaches.
  • Support project teams by guiding the development of clear documentation, approvals and updates.
  • Maintain and enhance the Council’s Project Portfolio, Business Planning Tool and central project records.
  • Help track delivery of our Corporate Business Plan, organisational risks and key project outcomes.
  • Drive continuous improvement by challenging the status quo and supporting organisational change.

About You

We are looking for someone who brings energy, clarity and a solutions‑focused mindset to their work, alongside the confidence to influence stakeholders at all levels.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • A solid understanding of the full project lifecycle
  • Strong knowledge of project management tools, techniques and best practice
  • Experience leading a range of projects in a public or private sector environment
  • Strong IT skills—particularly in Microsoft Office including Teams,Sharepoint and PowerBI to collect and interpret project data
  • The ability to communicate clearly with staff, senior leaders, Councillors and external partners
  • Excellent planning, organisational and analytical skills
  • A commitment to promoting good working practices and leading by example
