About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Runnymede Borough Council as part of our Local Land Charges Sector, working 28 Hours per week Tuesday to Friday.

As a Local Land Charges Officer, you will be part of a small team providing a prompt and accurate Local Land Charges Service. 

 The main duties of the Local Land Charges Officer will involve: 

  • Delivery of the statutory Local Land Charges Service within our agreed time frame
  • Processing, querying and validating Search Con29 requests electronically 
  • Gathering information from other departments to reconcile Search results
  • Maintaining the Local Land Charges Register
  • Utilise the Local Land Charges Geographic System to data capture and maintain, both spatially and textually
  • Liaising and dealing with emails, letters, telephone calls and verbal enquiries from the legal community, general public & other departments within the Council in a professional & timely manner
  • To keep up to date with any new developments in Local Land Charges by attending any relevant meetings/courses/conferences

About You

We are seeking enthusiastic, practical, and self‑motivated individuals who are keen to learn and join our small team. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering a high‑quality service and the ability to meet targets in a fast‑paced environment, along with the following skills:
 
  • Strong customer service skills with a commitment to delivering a high‑quality service within agreed timescales
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office applications with good computer and keyboard skills
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Educated to GCSE standard (or equivalent), including English and Mathematics
  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new systems and processes
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Capable of working under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Previous Land Charges and/or GIS experience is desirable, but not essential as training will be given
