About The Role

This an exciting opportunity to join Runnymede Borough Council as we continue our positive work in the Assets and Regeneration team. As the Facilities Management Trainee, you will:

  • Assisting with the management of maintenance reports and monitoring contractor performance
  • Supporting building operations and ensuring high standards of service delivery for stakeholders
  • Helping with budget control, invoice coding, and financial reporting tasks
  • Coordinating internal office moves and ordering furniture when required
  • Contributing to health and safety duties, including risk assessments and contractor monitoring
  • Maintaining accurate records across databases and asset management systems
  • Supporting tenancy administration, including renewals and data entry
  • Assisting with complaint triage and resolution, preparing clear response notes
  • Working with colleagues on Freedom of Information requests and Equality Impact Assessments
  • Playing a role in upcoming sustainability projects, helping the council meet environmental targets

About You

We are looking for a motivated and adaptable individual to join our team who can provide support across facilities operations and assurance functions. We are looking for exceptional candidates with a range of skills including:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organisational and time management abilities
  • IT literacy, including proficiency in MS Office
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to different tasks
  • Awareness of basic property/facilities principles
  • Understanding of public service values
  • Experience of customer service or team-based environments (desirable)
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
