Quantity Surveyor

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a quantity surveyor to join a team of experienced quantity surveyors procuring construction, highways and other works for Rochdale Borough Council.

The team supports and helps deliver £10m of capital works annually across the Council’s Property and Highways.

What We Need From You:

To be primarily responsible for the Quantity Surveying input for projects and services undertaken by the Highways and Environmental Services.

The role will involve:

Checking/agreeing final accounts for Highways and Environmental Management capital works

Substantiating Compensation Events/Early Warnings/Quotations under NEC4 conditions of contracts

Checking monthly invoicing from contractors and processing payments

Preparation of quotations for minor revenue/capital works for delivery by the in-house Highways and EM delivery team

Provide QS support to the Property Services team delivering Schools and other council projects.

To be responsible for the high-quality delivery of all related QS services in a way, which meets the requirements of the Council’s corporate procurement rules, relevant health and safety legislation and the obligations, placed on the Council.

To manage effective customer relationships that will retain and develop the business.

To contribute towards Property & Highways Service’s corporate and social responsibilities including policy, procedures and governance arrangements.
