Casual Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP)

This is a casual position and the hourly rate is £24.46.
As a pioneering authority, Rochdale Borough Council operates its functions under the Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended 2007) through a well-established AMHP Hub team.
We are looking for experienced AMHPs to join the dedicated AMHP hub on a casual contract basis.
For these posts, the casual contract means the work available is ad hoc and therefore, not guaranteed. Ideally for these posts your circumstances will be suited to working flexibly, although equally you will not be contractually obliged to pick up the shifts on offer.
There will be shifts to cover planned annual leave and some may become available at short notice.
The AMHP Hub operate office hours Monday to Friday, though of course the nature of the AMHP role may mean working past 5pm to complete pieces of work.
The AMHP Hub Team operate a shift coordinator role each day so there is always someone on hand to support and manage workflow.
To apply you must be a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England and be a qualified/experienced AMHP adept at picking up work quickly and working collaboratively with partner agencies in the AMHP role.
You will need to provide evidence of AMHP Continuous Professional Development will be required which meets the training requirements for AMHPs as set out in the 2008 Regulations (Mental Health Act 1983, as amended 2007) along with evidence of practice competence.

If invited for interview, we ask that you produce evidence of both your current AMHP approval letter and current AMHP CPD/Practice. This is to verify that you meet the competence requirements, as set out in the Mental Health Act Regulations 2008. This is also in line with our existing quality assurance framework for all our AMHPs.
AMHP practice evidence required:
- Approval letter from your approving authority.
- 18 hours AMHP related CPD for each year of approval.
- Evidence of mental health act practice min of three assessments for each year of approval.
- Evidence of access to reflective peer/individual AMHP supervision.
Appointment to this post is subject to an Adult workforce DBS and background checks.
