About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused Family Information Service (FIS) Officer to join our Early Years, Early Help and Neighbourhoods team.
In this role, you will help gather, maintain and share high
quality information on childcare, family services and support available across the borough.

You’ll manage and update the Our Rochdale directory, respond to enquiries from families and professionals, produce data and assist with childcare sufficiency reports, support childcare providers, and contribute to the delivery of the Information Duty under the Childcare Act 2006.

You’ll be an important point of contact for parents, carers, childcare professionals and partner agencies, helping families access the right services at the right time. You’ll also support the smooth daytoday running of the FIS and help promote the service at events across the borough.

About You

You are an organised, confident communicator with experience using databases and Microsoft 365. You can analyse and present information clearly and have a solid understanding of childcare provision, early years entitlements and financial support for families.

You will provide accurate information to the public, including families with SEND, and confidently support childcare providers and multi-agency professionals.

You understand key legislation such as the Childcare Act (section 12), Data Protection Act, Accessibility Regulations 2018 (for public sector websites) and Best Start in Life.

You are enthusiastic about representing the Family Information Service at events. You demonstrate the values Proud, Passionate, Pioneering and are committed to excellent customer service.
