Temporary Caretaker - St. Thomas More RC Primary School

This is a temporary contract until 31 December 2026 and other opportunities maybe offered within Facilities Management.

About the Role

Facilities Management are looking to appoint a Temporary Caretaker to work at St. Thomas More RC Primary School, Middleton

37 hours per week Monday to Friday 7am-10.30am (Fri 10am) & 2.15pm-6.15pm Holidays to be taken throughout school holiday periods in line with the school holiday pattern.

Please note hours maybe subject to change dependent on the needs of the service. Overtime may be required time to time and the appropriate rate will be paid.

About you

We are looking for someone who is a hard-working, energetic and honest person with excellent customer care skills and the ability to provide a quality service at this busy school site.

The successful candidate will:

• Responsible for maintaining an excellent standard of cleanliness of designated areas in the building and duties will include toilets and associated facilities against an agreed cleaning specification and good attention to detail.
• Able to complete practical handyman tasks.
• Ability to work to tight timescales is essential and a flexible approach
• Be able to work independently using initiative and as part of a team
• Able to communicate clearly with and relate positively to all members of the school team.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety at work
• Ability to recognise the importance of ensuring a secure and safe environment of the site to include record keeping and the completion of compliance tasks.

Experience is essential, although persons with skills appropriate and a willing attitude are invited to apply.

Appointment to this post is subject to an enhanced DBS including a barred list check child workforce.
