End User Computing Engineer

Job description

9 Month Fixed-term Contract, with the possibility of extension or permanent appointment

Location: Lynton House, Ilford, IG1

Redbridge Council is looking to strengthen its End User Computing (EUC) team and improve the service provided to our 3,000 internal customers. We are seeking an experienced EUC Engineer with strong technical knowledge, a desire to develop further within a Microsoft-focused environment, and a clear commitment to excellent customer service. As part of our wider support team, you will share responsibility for delivering high-quality services to our customers.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced End User Computing Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will have strong practical experience across a range of technologies, with a particular focus on Windows environments, Active Directory, endpoint management tools, and productivity applications. Candidates must be able to work on-site five days a week and travel to other LBR sites as when required. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle from the start date are essential.

Requirements:

Strong knowledge and demonstrable experience in:

  • Windows 11 maintenance, deployment, and updates.
  • Active Directory management and group policies.
  • Endpoint management tools such as Intune and SCCM.
  • Experience supporting or delivering Microsoft Autopilot deployments, including device enrolment, provisioning, build configuration, user-driven deployment, and troubleshooting within an Intune-managed environment.
  • Office 365 administration
  • Microsoft Teams and other collaboration tools.
  • Imaging laptops, device profiling, and PC hardware knowledge.
  • Android smartphone security and support.
  • Experience working in an IT Service Desk environment, using a structured IT Service Management system to log and manage incidents in line with ITIL standards.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft certifications, ITIL Foundation) are a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and a customer-oriented approach.
