Neighbourhood Officer x5
London Borough of Redbridge
Neighbourhood Officer x5
- Job description
Location: Orchard House, Woodford Green, IG8
Permanent – Full Time
Redbridge is an ambitious, diverse and exciting east-London borough. What we do is driven by changing our relationship with local people to support our vision. As a result, we've developed innovative ways to build our communities and transform our Council.
We're one of the fastest growing parts of the country and the third most diverse London borough. Our communities are attracted by a mixture of excellent schools, relatively affordable housing, high-quality open space and rapid transport connections into the heart of the city.
We are seeking Neighbourhood Officers to provide an exceptional service to residents.
Neighbourhood Officers are responsible for managing a defined mixed-tenure patch, acting as the primary relationship holders with residents. They provide a regular and visible presence on estates, ensuring our homes are safe and well maintained, providing advice, information and understanding the needs of customers, tenants and leaseholders and respond to these, at both an individual and neighbourhood level.
The Neighbourhood Officer is the custodian of the estates and neighbourhoods which they manage and will have influence over place shaping. They will foster great relationships with residents and will provide an important first point of contact for residents who require support. Neighbourhood Officers will also work to continue to improve joint working with partner organisations and other Council departments, to improve the lives of our tenants.
You will be key to improving resident satisfaction, building trust and making sure that residents receive a great service. You will drive regulatory compliance and resident satisfaction, while supporting colleagues in the investigation of enquiries from customers, councillors, MP’s, Housing Ombudsman and complaints regarding the service.
The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in dealing with the public, excellent organisational and communication skills, and the confidence to navigate competing demands.
You will work with discretion, build positive relationships at all levels, and maintain a calm and solutions‑focused approach. With a commitment to collaboration, excellence and continuous improvement, you will help embed modern, efficient working practices and play an important role in enabling the Housing Management Team deliver its strategic priorities. Flexibility to adapt at pace and support occasional out‑of‑hours commitments will be essential.
