Redbridge Council is delivering an ambitious Modernisation Programme to help shape the future of the organisation. Working in partnership with services across the Council, the programme focuses on improving how services are designed and delivered, making better use of data, digital technology and innovation to improve outcomes for residents and ensure services remain sustainable for the future.
We are looking for Business Analysts who are passionate about understanding business challenges, identifying opportunities for improvement and working collaboratively to design practical solutions that deliver real benefits for residents, colleagues and the organisation.
About the Role
As a Business Analyst within the Modernisation Team, you will work closely with service areas to understand how services currently operate, identify opportunities for improvement and help shape future ways of working.
Using a range of business analysis techniques, you will gather and analyse requirements, map business processes, facilitate workshops, evaluate options and support the successful delivery of modernisation initiatives. You will work alongside Programme Managers, Project Managers, Service Designers, Digital specialists and service experts to ensure solutions are evidence-based, user-focused and aligned to the Council’s strategic priorities.
Overview of the role:
- Engage with stakeholders to understand business needs, challenges and opportunities.
- Gather, document and validate business and functional requirements.
- Analyse existing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness and customer experience.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews and stakeholder engagement sessions.
- Produce high-quality business analysis documentation, including process maps, business cases, options appraisals and requirements specifications.
- Support the design and implementation of new processes, digital solutions and service improvements.
- Work collaboratively with project teams to ensure solutions meet business needs and deliver measurable benefits.
- Contribute to benefits realisation and continuous improvement across the Modernisation Programme.
About You
You will be an experienced Business Analyst with excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
You will enjoy working with people to understand complex business challenges and translating these into practical, achievable solutions. You will be confident facilitating discussions, challenging constructively and building strong relationships across a diverse organisation.
You will also bring:
- Experience delivering business analysis within complex programmes or projects.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience of business process mapping, requirements gathering and process improvement.
- Excellent workshop facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- A collaborative and solution-focused approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- A recognised Business Analysis qualification (such as BCS Business Analysis or equivalent) is desirable.
