Redbridge Council is delivering an ambitious Modernisation Programme to help shape the future of the organisation. Working in partnership with services across the Council, the programme focuses on improving how services are designed and delivered, making better use of data, digital technology and innovation to improve outcomes for residents and ensure services remain sustainable for the future.
We are looking for experienced Senior Business Analysts to lead business analysis across high-profile modernisation programmes, working with senior stakeholders to understand complex challenges and develop innovative, evidence-based solutions that support the Council’s strategic priorities.
About the Role
As a Senior Business Analyst within the Modernisation Team, you will lead business analysis activities across a portfolio of transformation initiatives, working closely with Directors, Heads of Service, Programme Managers, Project Managers and multidisciplinary delivery teams.
You will be responsible for shaping the analysis approach, leading stakeholder engagement, facilitating workshops, challenging existing ways of working and ensuring proposed solutions are practical, deliverable and aligned with organisational objectives. You will also provide professional leadership and mentoring to Business Analysts, helping to build capability and promote best practice across the team.
Overview of the role:
- Lead business analysis across complex, cross-Council modernisation programmes and projects.
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders to understand strategic priorities, business needs and service challenges.
- Lead workshops, discovery sessions and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Analyse current business processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, customer experience and service delivery.
- Produce high-quality business analysis artefacts, including business cases, options appraisals, process maps and requirements documentation.
- Provide strategic advice to programme and project teams to ensure solutions are aligned to business objectives.
- Mentor and support Business Analysts, promoting consistent standards and continuous professional development.
- Contribute to the development of business analysis methodologies, tools and best practice across the Modernisation Team.
- Support benefits realisation by ensuring proposed solutions deliver measurable business outcomes.
About You
You will be an experienced Senior Business Analyst with a strong track record of leading business analysis within complex transformation programmes.
You will be confident engaging with senior leaders, facilitating challenging discussions and influencing decision-making through evidence-based analysis. You will combine excellent analytical skills with strong communication and relationship-building abilities, enabling you to work effectively across organisational boundaries.
You will also bring:
- Significant experience delivering business analysis within large, complex organisations.
- Strong experience of leading requirements gathering, process analysis and business process redesign.
- Excellent facilitation, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Experience supporting organisational change and delivering service improvement initiatives.
- The ability to coach and mentor Business Analysts and promote best practice.
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
- A recognised Business Analysis qualification (such as BCS Business Analysis or equivalent) is desirable.
