London Borough of Redbridge Salary: £38,256 - £39,276 | Full-time, 36 hours | Based at Orchard (West) Housing Office, Woodford Green

We are now looking for a Building, Compliance & People Safety Coordinator to join our Asset Management team and play a vital role in ensuring our homes and buildings remain safe, compliant, and well‑managed.
The Role
As a Compliance Coordinator, you will be at the heart of our building safety and compliance operations. Working closely with internal teams, contractors and external partners, you will ensure that statutory and non‑statutory compliance requirements are met across areas such as:
- Electrical safety
- Fire safety
- Gas servicing
- Water hygiene
- Lift servicing
- Other key building compliance programmes
You will maintain and monitor compliance data, support contract management, prepare reports and KPIs, and act as a first point of contact for stakeholders. Your work will directly support the safety of our tenants, leaseholders and communities.
This is a role for someone who is organised, proactive and committed to delivering high standards — someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment where accuracy, communication and problem‑solving matter.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Monitoring compliance schedules and ensuring inspections and servicing are completed on time
- Reconciling data between compliance systems and the housing management system
- Preparing KPI reports, dashboards and performance summaries
- Supporting access procedures and documentation for enforcement where required
- Maintaining accurate compliance records in line with legislation and best practice
- Assisting with contract management and procurement activity
- Providing advice and support to colleagues and stakeholders
- Ensuring data quality, integrity and adherence to council policies
- Supporting budget monitoring and authorising works up to £500
What We’re Looking For
You’ll bring a blend of technical understanding, strong organisational skills and a commitment to excellent customer service. We’re looking for someone who can work independently, build strong relationships and contribute positively to a collaborative team.
Essential skills and experience include:
- Experience preparing compliance reports, KPIs and performance summaries
- Strong understanding of statutory and non‑statutory compliance in social housing
- Advanced IT skills, including databases and reporting tools
- Ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders
- Experience working in diverse communities and with vulnerable residents
- Ability to think creatively and propose smarter ways of working
A compliance‑related qualification or relevant experience is highly desirable.
