Location: Redbridge Youth Justice and Targeted Prevention Service, Station Road, Barkingside IG6 1NB
Salary: Voluntary Position
Hours: As and when required according to rota

Volunteer Panel Members are required to complete the training and induction process in full to be inducted onto the scheme. Volunteer Panel Members will then be asked to undertake the following tasks:
- To contribute to the overall aim of reducing re-offending by children subject to Referral Orders.
- To chair or co-facilitate all types of Referral Order Panel Meetings.
- To chair the meetings or support the person chairing by contributing to the meeting as a second Panel Member.
- To allow all attendees at the meetings to have their say and actively listen.
- To attend pre-planning meetings prior to all Panel Meetings.
- To read and understand Panel Reports and be able to use the information to suggest appropriate interventions.
- To treat all attendees at the meetings with respect, regardless of ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religion or disability.
- At Initial Panel Meetings, to negotiate and co-produce an appropriate contract of interventions, addressing risk and factors for desistance to prevent further offending while taking into account the child’s individual needs.
- To ensure the views of the person harmed and/or the community are represented wherever possible at Panel Meetings.
- To attend regular workshops/presentations, Group Supervision and Individual Supervision as and when agreed with the Referral Order Team Manager.
- To promptly inform Redbridge Youth Justice Service of any concerns/issues which arise during voluntary work.
- To provide at least two weeks’ notice of any absence to the Referral Order administrator and Referral Order Manager Team administrator
- To contribute to the development of Referral Orders.
- To work at all times according to Redbridge Youth Justice Service’s Confidentiality Policy.
- To work at all times according to Redbridge Youth Justice Service’s Equal Opportunities Policy.
