Part Time Tutor - ESOL

Contract: Fixed term 1 August 26 31 July 2027

Salary: Part-time tutor rates of pay

£24.26 to £31.30 per hour - Non-vocational Courses

£27.89 to £34.84 per hour - Vocational Courses

Hours: Various

Based: Various Lifelong Learning centres, outreach and community venues

Closing Date: Tuesday 28 July 2026

Role Overview:

To deliver high quality teaching learning and assessment that complies with the quality standards of the service. Course delivery will include a range of digital & business courses; accredited and non-accredited from Entry level to Level 2.


Key Responsibilities:

  • To prepare schemes of work, lesson plans and relevant resources for the course/s.
  • To complete all appropriate administrative tasks, including completion of registers, learner agreement forms, risk assessments and records that support the Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement process (RARPA).
  • To set and mark learners’ work as appropriate and provide individual / group feedback to support learning in order to ensure progress.
  • To ensure that individual learner needs are met, and that progress is monitored, recorded and reflected in lesson planning.


Key Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need as a minimum:

  • The ability and experience to establish a person-centred approach to develop a rapport and good trusting relationship with learners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work alongside the learner and Curriculum Teams
