The Directorate is focused on improving data quality, strengthening system capability, and ensuring compliance with emerging regulatory requirements, while continuing to deliver high-quality frontline services.
The Business Systems Management & Information (BSMI) Team plays a key role in enabling this change. The team is responsible for the configuration, development and improvement of business systems, as well as the delivery of data, reporting and insight capabilities across Housing services. It acts as the bridge between service needs and technology delivery, ensuring that systems and data are aligned, reliable and fit for purpose.
About the Job
As a Senior BSMI Officer, you will be part of the team delivering system and data improvements across Housing services. Working under the direction of the Product Lead, you will support the design, configuration and implementation of solutions that improve operational efficiency and data quality.
You will work closely with service teams to understand requirements, configure systems, and support delivery of change. This includes supporting system testing, user acceptance testing, and ensuring smooth transition into business-as-usual operations.
You will also contribute to data improvement activity, supporting the development of reporting and dashboards, and ensuring that systems are structured to support accurate, consistent and timely data.
The role will involve working across a range of systems and processes, providing hands-on support and ensuring that solutions are delivered in a controlled and structured way.
About You
You will have experience working with business systems, data, or service improvement in a local government or similar environment.
You will:
· Be confident working with systems configuration, data, or process improvement
· Have experience supporting system implementations, upgrades or enhancements
· Be able to work with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate these into practical solutions
· Have an understanding of data quality and the importance of accurate reporting
· Be organised and able to manage multiple tasks in a structured way
You will be someone who is proactive, detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. You will enjoy problem-solving and be motivated by delivering practical improvements that support frontline services.
