Salary: £35,520 – £36,585 per annum

About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and motivated Employment Coach to join the Preparing for Employment team within Adult Social Care at the London Borough of Newham.
You will support adults with learning disabilities, autism and other complex needs to develop the skills, confidence and independence required to move towards employment, volunteering and meaningful community participation.
In this role, you will deliver structured activities that build practical work skills, communication, and positive workplace behaviours. You will support residents to progress into training, supported internships and paid employment, while promoting independence and wellbeing through person-centred support.

Key Responsibilities
- Support residents to take part in employment preparation and work-readiness activities
- Encourage development of confidence, independence and practical life skills
- Develop communication, teamwork, timekeeping and task completion skills
- Deliver group and one-to-one activities aligned with support plans
- Act as keyworker, supporting care planning and reviews
- Support access to community opportunities and employment pathways
- Provide personal care where required
- Maintain accurate records and reports
- Promote equality, diversity and inclusion
About You
You will be a compassionate and motivated individual with experience supporting adults with additional needs.
You will be confident in helping people build new skills, grow in confidence and work towards their personal goals.
Qualifications
- Level 2 or Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards)
