The Property Team:
At this exciting time, Newcastle City Council is looking to recruit three talented Surveyors to join its Property Team and help shape the future of the city.
We are expanding our team to support the delivery of the council’s ambitious objectives. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing service that plays a key role in shaping, managing and influencing the council’s property portfolio. The expanded team will help drive improvement, support investment and ensure our assets deliver the best outcomes for the city and its communities.
We are helping to deliver the £50m City Centre Transformation Programme, transforming this prestigious public realm to create a safer, greener and healthier space for all; and the intrinsically linked project to reawaken of the Grainger Market, following a successful bid to the Government’s Levelling Up Fund.
The role:
We are looking to recruit three Surveyors. The roles will incorporate the full spectrum of work which commercial chartered surveyors can deliver.
This will include, but is not limited to asset management, property management including landlord and tenant work, acquisition, disposal, valuation, development and agency across all commercial property sectors including residential.
The roles will require:
The roles come with a competitive benefits package including salary, flexible working, 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) increasing to 29 days with 5 years continuous service, the ability to take days off in Lieu and continuous professional development.

The roles will require:
- Full member of the RICS
- Knowledge of Landlord and Tenant legislation
- Experience in dealing with acquisition, and disposal of commercial property
- Valuation skills and experience
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Dedicated work ethic
- Ability to deliver value-add across a variety of real estate asset classes
- Articulate and numerate with good analytical skills
- Motivated with rigorous attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
- Team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can juggle multiple priorities simultaneously
- Experience in the production of reports for senior colleagues and/or clients
