The Safe Living Team (Anti-Social Behaviour) is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Neighbourhood Warden to help make Newcastle communities safer.
Working within Newcastle City Council’s Safe Living Team to support engagement with communities, reduction of anti-social behaviour and reporting of incidents.
If you like working outdoors, dealing with the public and making a positive difference to improve the City of Newcastle upon Tyne, then come and join the Neighbourhood Wardens Team.
You will be working with partner agencies to support community safety initiatives, tackle anti-social behaviour, gather intelligence, report incidents and environmental issues while being a highly visible representative of Newcastle City Council.
This is an active role and will include the requirement to issue fixed penalty notices for offences relating to, littering, dog fouling, and waste management, and to assist in the preparation of legal files.
You should be confident in a variety of situations, able to walk for long periods of time, comfortable speaking to members of the public, colleagues, and partner organisations, and have good negotiating and observational skills.
You must have a full valid clean UK driving licence and there will be a requirement to work flexibly to include alternating shifts, weekend, bank holidays and evening working.
Neighbourhood Wardens work an average of 37 hours per week on a 18 week rota pattern. You will work on an alternating shift pattern of day shift 08.00- 16.30 and late shift 13.30- 22.00 working 6 shifts on followed by 3 days off. Each shift pattern attracts payment enhancements. Shift and weekend enhancements are paid on top of the basic salary.
