Newcastle City Council is seeking to recruit Business Support Officers for a range of full-time and part-time opportunities.
Our Business Support service is a flexible, responsive team that provides essential support to all areas of Newcastle City Council.
Unless stipulated all positions are three months fixed term contracts and will be reviewed consistently throughout your time in the role once successful.
The Candidate
We are looking for enthusiastic team players who are committed to delivering an excellent, customer-focused service. You will work within a reactive team, supporting one of the service areas listed below.
You should have strong communication skills and the ability to manage challenging situations, including supporting vulnerable service users over the phone and handling sensitive information appropriately.
You will be able to multitask, manage a high workload, and adapt to changing priorities. Experience using a case management system would be an advantage. You should also be confident using MS Office / Office 365 and have a good understanding of data protection requirements.

1 x 37 hours per week permanent Business Support Officer post supporting Adult Social Care, based at The Welford Centre.
1 x 37 hours per week Business Support Officer post SEND Transport, Civic Centre/Hybrid
1 x 37 hours per week Business Support Officer post supporting Legal Hub, Civic Centre/Hybrid
1 x 22.12 hours per week Business Support Officer post supporting Occupational Health, Civic Centre – 6 month fixed term
1 x 18.5 hours per week permanent Business Support Officer post supporting Adult Social Care, based at Castle Dene.
In your application you will need to demonstrate that you meet the essential criteria listed in the person specification and give recent and relevant examples of how you meet these criteria.
These posts work in a generic pool of Business Support staff and you could therefore be placed in various areas to support departments across the city.
Unless specified where they are based, these post would offer the opportunity to work on an agile basis
