Commercial Noise Team
Newcastle City Council is an ambitious council in a vibrant city offering a highly varied workload across our many businesses and residents alike. This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team in Commercial Noise. This post would suit a newly qualified Environmental Health degree student with CIEH EHRB registration (Chartered status).
What you’ll be doing:
Investigation of complaints (predominantly noise and odour).
Responding to Licensing and Planning application consultations in respect of nuisance considerations (noise and odour). You will undertake a range of site visits & meet with applicants, agents & consultants to agree appropriate control measures for prospective developments.
Attendance at Safety Advisory Group meetings with respect to noise control and public safety at a range of events across the city.
Periodic water sampling.
Participation in noise monitoring support (some out of hours)
Responding to a wide range of requests for service across the team.
Provide and maintain a high standard of customer service.

What we’re looking for:
Experience of dealing effectively with demanding members of the public
Experience of dealing with difficult situations
Ability to work alone or as part of a team
Good numeracy and literacy skills
Clean driving licence
Suitability to work with client group
