Your Role

Make a difference every day in a role that keeps our Academy safe, welcoming and running smoothly.

We're looking for a proactive, practical and reliable Facilities & Site Supervisor to help maintain a safe, secure and welcoming Academy environment. This varied role combines facilities management, maintenance, health and safety, cleaning oversight, security and operational support, ensuring the Academy runs smoothly every day.

We have opportunities to join our Facilities team in Callerton Academy (NE5 4JQ), Gosforth Academy (NE3 2JH) and Great Park Academy (NE13 9FR).

You'll coordinate repairs, oversee contractors, carry out minor maintenance tasks, monitor cleaning standards and support the upkeep of the buildings and grounds. You'll also undertake routine inspections and compliance checks, helping to ensure the site remains safe, secure and fit for purpose.

The role includes supporting Academy events and activities, coordinating deliveries and room setups, maintaining site security as a keyholder, supervising designated staff and responding to day-to-day operational issues as they arise.

We're looking for someone with facilities, caretaking or maintenance experience who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in high standards and can work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Strong organisational skills, a commitment to health and safety, and a positive, customer-focused approach are essential.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive Academy community where you can make a visible difference every day and help create an environment in which pupils, staff and visitors can thrive.

Our Facilities & Site Supervisors support the academy 37hrs per week across two shift patterns. You’ll work with your fellow Facilities & Site Supervisor on a rotating shift pattern, of which you’ll receive an additional allowance on top of your salary. Typically, this would be 6am-2pm one week and 1:30pm-9:30pm the next week. You’ll also benefit from a further allowance of time and a third for hours worked after 8pm.

When completing your application, please indicate your preferred academy in the additional information section.
