North East Museums is a regional museum, art gallery and archives service. We manage twelve museums and galleries across North East England and the Archives for Tyne and Wear.
 
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our award-winning service; we are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Administrative Assistant to join our team.
 
This is a busy and rewarding role where you will play a key part in helping us achieve our exciting and ambitious plans within the arts and heritage sector. Reporting to directly to our Governance Officer, you will be providing administration and governance support to our Director, Senior Management team and Board members.
 
You will be providing first-class administrative support across a range of activities such as co-ordinating meetings, events, and travel arrangements, managing correspondence and communications professionally, building positive relationships with colleagues, partners and stakeholders and identifying opportunities to help improve processes and make a real impact on how we work.

You should have demonstrable experience of working in busy office environments. Excellent organisational skills are essential, as are good oral and written communication skills and the ability to prioritise tasks quickly and efficiently. You should be computer literate with a good working knowledge of MS Office 365 software packages, especially SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Word and Outlook.
 
In line with our Agile Working Policy, we support a flexible approach to where work is carried out in line with business needs. An initial induction period on site would be required, after which a blend of home and workplace-based working could be agreed. Start and finish times can be flexible withing standard working hours, but we require you to be at work on a minimum of 4 weekdays each week.
