What the role will involve?
 
The purpose of this role is to operate and manage key business information systems within the Traffic Signals team, ensuring the accurate capture, maintenance, coordination, and reporting of business data. This supports effective service delivery, informed decision-making, and robust performance management.
 
The Traffic Signals team delivers services across the Northeast region using a combination of internal resources and external contractors. This role plays a key part in supporting the coordination of these activities by ensuring that data and system processes are managed efficiently and consistently.
 
The postholder will also support and advise colleagues and apprentices, contributing to their development while ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with Newcastle City Council’s policies and procedures.
 
Who are we looking for?
  
We are looking for someone methodical with an excellent level of literacy, numeracy, and IT skills, who shows good attention to detail.  You must be good at communicating with customers, operatives, and management to help support the Transport Division.  You must be able to manage your time and workload efficiently with minimal supervision and be highly motivated to make improvements.
